I’m from a small city called Bhagalpur in Bihar, which is in North India, just below Nepal border. Sorry, you can NOT see himalayas from my place. I was born and brought up in bhagalpur, completing my 10th std in ICSE Board from Mount Assisi School, Bhagalpur . After completing my matriculation, I went to Delhi Public school (DPS), R.K. Puram, New Delhi and completed my 10+2 there in CBSE Board .
After that, I moved on to study Electrical Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, India . I received my B. Tech Degree major degree in Electrical engineering , and a minor degree in Computer Science and Engineering . After completing my B. Tech, I came to the United States of America to pursue Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA . I did my Master’s Research Assistantship under Dr. T. N. VijayKumar and Dr Tony Hosking in Computer Architectural support for garbage collection in object oriented programming languages. I had fun taking a mix of courses in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. However the cold in Indiana wasn’t fun at all.
Subsequently, I got a job at Advanced Micro devices (AMD), Austin, TX as a chip design engineer. I loved the city, particularly the weather, as it was close to my home town temperatures of 40 degrees centigrade (finally I felt at home) !! Almost after 8 years, I left AMD, to join Texas Instruments, Dallas, TX At the completion of 8 year cycle, I moved back to Austin to work for Apple, Austin TX. They say, once you are in Texas, you are always Texas. So true !! Why? Because you can’t afford to live anywhere else.
I am married with 2 kids who keep both of us busy all the time. We have visited a lot of places in USA mostly on road trips including west coast(Los Angeles, San Diego, San Fransisco, Las Vegas, Seattle,Grand Canyon), east coast(New York, Washington D.C ), north(Chicago, Minneapolis), south(New Orleans, Orlando, Key West), Central(Memphis, Nashville, Smoky mountains) and many more. However, we still have to visit Niagara Falls, the so called holy place for Indians. We have also visited a few international places as Bahamas Islands, Israel , Costa Rica and Mexico. We still have a lot of international ground to cover. Also, we have a lot of visiting to do in India, as we have never visited anywhere in India 🙁 Maybe with my terribly “patient” kids next time !!
